Our Uniqueness

Our Model: Taa ya Maisha (The Light of Life)

Taa ya Maisha is GFI’s signature, sustainable model that reinvests in girls’ education by empowering their caregivers—primarily women—through entrepreneurship, vocational training, and sexual and reproductive health education.

Scholarships: Full scholarships for girls living on less than $1/day, covering school fees, supplies, and mentorship.
Caregiver Empowerment: Vocational training, financial literacy, family planning, and entrepreneurship education for caregivers (80% women).
Seed Funding and Microloans: Women-led cooperatives manage seed capital and 2% interest microloans, promoting ownership and accountability.
Sustainable Cycle: Loan interest is reinvested into scholarships, fueling the next generation of empowered girls.
